My only loom that is not currently naked is my Rigid Heddle. I just this afternoon warped up the second panel for my Ashford "Little Loom, Big Blanket" blanket.

Can anyone tell me what the two colors of tussah silk were that Jane used in season 1 ep 1 when she was demonstrating warping using the warping board?

When you say "It doesn't look like it's dyed on Tussah anymore", does that mean that it won't ever be again or it's just out of stock at the moment?

I warped 12 yards and cut off these towels after weaving 3 of them. tied back up today for more fun and games on 8H.

Finished weaving this project today. It is the cram and dent linen scarf from Season 3 Episode 2. This has been wet finished and steam pressed. The scarf is not soft enough with the 40/2 linen as warp and weft for my neck but it is perfect and beautiful as a dining table runner. I had plans to weave a second scarf using something softer like the JST silk or Bambu from my stash but I had a warping disaster and let my lease sticks fall out of the cross....argghhh

I had secured the threads in my raddle (1/4 sections) with the threads arranged by the cram and dent order so it wasn't as bad as it could have been...but I still had some issues at the back beam. Also, the differential take up between the cram sections and the open sections were an issue by the end of this scarf/runner. This was the first project I had warped on my new Jane loom. I found that on a table loom, at least for me today, there wasn't enough depth from the back of the heddles to the back beam to insert a rod and weigh down those open sections successfully. If I do another project like this in the future, I will either weave it on my floor loom (love my David 3) or my other table loom as it has two back beams and I can beam the cram threads on one beam, and the open threads on the second beam.

All in all, this is a lovely runner, the linen was easy to wind and warp (until my mistake) and very easy to weave with.

I just ordered a thick swedish linen yarn called Veera. I want to use it for sauna bench covers. I'm a bit nervous if it won't feel too stiff.

Catherine, I wish I could take credit for the fabulous colors...they were the kit from JST. Do you remember that for Season 3 she had chosen a photograph from a magazine and picked colors from the photo for the Season? Way cool.

I think you'll be OK with the linen you are choosing because you can toss it in the washer and dryer. My open weave area scarf could not be treated so roughly, but it would have softened it up LOL.

Hi, I spent last week setting up my new Jane loom. Sadly I put the shelf in upside down, which set me back a bit! This is my first and only multi-shaft loom. I have a bit of weaving knowledge from using a rigid heddle for a couple of years. Jane’s classes are awesome!

This morning I put on a 6” wide warp. It’s only about 3 yards long, but will give me the experience of using the new loom without the pressure of creation. It’s a solid purple warp made from sock yarn (past knitter). I have dug some turquoise and purple variegated sock yarn out of my stash. A simple scarf. Even though I checked three times, I have missed slots on my read. I’m ignoring it and just moving forward.

You all have put up some very nice projects. This month my goal is to get comfy with my Jane Loom.

Congratulations on your new loom Lily! These classes ARE great, aren't they? I have been weaving a project here and there for the past 5 years, all over the map in terms of shafts and techniques. I just started this course in January and working through these projects consistently has been good for both my technique and my understanding of basic color and design concepts. I am just starting S3 and am loving every minute. I look forward to seeing your progress.
