Will season 7 only be about 8 shafts? Will there be anything for 4 shaft? Thanks Anna

Only episode 1 of season 7 is for 8 shafts, the rest of the episodes are for 4. It won’t be until 2024 (season 8) when we begin diving into 8 shaft weaving in more depth.

I am weaving the alternative color and weave turned twill and I am wondering since it is a twill why there isn't a floating selvedge. It doesn't seem to be catching the outside threads.

Jane doesn’t always use floating selvedges with twill, as she doesn’t mind a float of four or less threads at the edges. It creates that curl you see at the selvedges when off the loom and washed, but can be ironed out. Basically, if she doesn’t have to (ie - no basketweave or double shots in the same shed), she doesn’t use a floating selvedge. If you prefer to use one, go for it. Jane discusses this in Season 5’s episode of turned twill.

I'm totally confused. I just changed the tie-up for towels 5-8.
I have a Spring loom, tie up is given for rising shed, so I tied the cords of the Y treadles 1/5, 2/6, 3/7, 4/8 to my lower lams as they are my risers, rest to the upper lamms. I started on Y with Bleached, Nile alternates on X. So why are my stars of towel 6 on the bottom side of the peace?
It doesn't matter, but I would like to find my thinking error.

I have finished weaving my towels for this episode. I wove the 2.5”hems as per instructions, because I like generous hems also. When you turn them 3/4” two times, there is still 1” of hem showing on the right side. Should they have been 1 1/2” hems or did Jane hem hers differently than I am thinking? Thanks.

Thanks for your thoughts. You are right, it probably meant turn hems 1.25” twice like you said.
