Season 7 - Layering Colour & Weave and Texture
Wow, thanks so much for your analysis, planning and inspiration. I love the triangles and the complexity of your placemats.
Thanks so much, Kit! :)

12 yards !! Wow Kit !! I just finished a 9 yard warp and had to force myself to keep going LOL. These are beautiful.
Great job Kit!
This could be my last 12 yard warp. I really had a hard time sticking with it.
But you did! 👏👏👏
Oh wow, Kit! These are all magnificent. You must be so thrilled!
I've just watched the intro to Season 7 Episode 9. I love the gamp! And I would like to weave the gamp. Any chance we could get the draft for it? Complicated is good! Thank you.
Not with this episode. However, you have all the treadlings that create the magic in your gamp PDF. You could pick a draft on pages 3 or 4, make it the width you want and go for it.
Hi lovely people!
I hope you are all well and life is being kind to you. Long post ahead...
I just finished hemming a set of napkins based on Season 7 Episode 9 - M’s & O’s go on a Date with Huck and Colour & Weave.
---
It's a bit of a long post... I thoroughly enjoyed playing with M's & O's on a Huck threading. My loom was covered in a bazillion sticky notes when I cut the warp off and I hope I'm able to translate my scribbles into something meaningful for you all.
First up... the profile. I have had plaid on the brain and decided to mess around with small fibonacci numbers (1, 2, 3) to create a symmetrical profile draft.
I decided I wanted to play around with 9-end units this time, so my units were 121 434 121 and 424 313 424. Where I had more than on A or B together, I decided to just delete the duplicate end and thread 121 434 12121 434 121, etc. This gave me a mix of 3-end and 5-end floats I found quite pleasing.
Pouring in the colour...
My first two napkins were TAW with plain weave-ish and M's & O's respectively. The first thing I noticed was weaving to square looked super open and it wasn't an easy beat. I had to concentrate to place every pick. There were a lot more doubled warp threads (a la canvas weave) in the plain weave-ish treadling, and due to the significantly lower number of interlacements in each pick, the fabric needed to be sett more closely, so I cut off the first two and re-sleyed from 16 EPI to 18 EPI.
Interlacements: you can see here in the turmeric section the high number of doubled warp ends and how the doubled warp ends show where the floats would weave - floats of 3, 3, 5, 3, 5, 3, 3.

Napkin #1 (16 EPI - TAW - PW-ish)

Napkin #2 (16 EPI - TAW - M's & O's)

Moving on with 18 EPI...
Hems were all woven 22 picks in PW-ish and then each napkin was framed top and bottom with 12 picks of PW-ish.
