I am getting ready to weave the sample for episode 5.3 Huck . Jane’s draft calls for Bambu 7 gauge (which she says is like 5/2 cotton weight). I have a lot of 5/2 mercerized cotton in my stash and was hoping I could use this in place of the Bambu 7g. Has anyone had experience with this ?

I am planning to make a table mat for the Jewish Sabbath table. I played with this idea while doing the Canvas weave sampler. I like the idea of using linen, but prefer the Huck lace variations. Does Huck lend itself to the stiffness of linen? And, where can I find heavier linen to make this a stiffer mat?
