Hi Marilyn, can you post a few pictures....it really helps to see what is happening. I suspect your sett it too open at 16 EPI. I would try it sett at least at 20 for 16/2 cotton. But send a pic if you can. :)

Hi Marilyn, I do think it is your sett. Because it is so open you weft is beating down a lot even if you try to beat carefully. Try increasing your sett and the cloth will be more balanced. It is so good to sample before taking on the big project. Keep us updated :)

Hi Marilyn, I would try 20 epi and 20ppi, being very careful to balance your cloth....and I'll think you'll have it. You made a giant leap from 16 to 24, that is 8 threads in the warp and 8 threads in the weft ..... a total of 16 threads in a square inch. Are you up for trying one more time. If that doesn't do it I'm hooped. Sending you tons of fabulous energy :)
