I posted my question in the comment section of this episode but realized that it probably belongs here.
1. I think the term shadow weave got me confused. I wound my warp- black and color thread alternating.
Im ready to thread my heddles. Do I thread as it’s wound like the past lessons?
For example, in a straight draw….shaft 1. BLk X(shaft 3) color thread 2. BLk, X(4) color thread etc etc.
I am not sure why I started over thinking that shadow thread should be the Black thread. Black like a shadow.
Hope this makes sense.
I answered your question under the original post - but …… if you look at the close-ups of the samples, you’ll see that the black is definitely the outline of the pattern. Jane shows us the difference in the outcome of the pattern depending on whether you weave with DL or LD. Maybe reviewing the samples again will help things click into place or ……. get out some graph paper and play with the draft with your pencil crayons.
