I saw Leslie Green's beautiful scarves in today's JST Newsletter and found the Facebook post from Leslie about converting the Simple Supplementary Warp draft to 8 shafts. I also have an 8-Shaft Baby Wolf so I want to use all 8 shafts as well so I don't have to add heddles to shafts 1 and 2. Jane's reply on Facebook indicated how to change the tie-up for 8-shafts and I've done that in Fiberworks. I've used the same treadling sequence as for the 4-shaft version as they both use 10 treadles. Hopefully that is correct for the treadling.
When I tried adjusting the threading for 8 shafts, I don't get the same result I had for the 4-shaft threading. On 4 shafts, the pattern threads on 3 and 4 are in the following order: 33-44-33-44-33-44-33-44-33-44-33 and each one creates both vertical and horizontal floats that create that beautiful vertical line. I tried adjusting the threading for 8 shafts using the same number of pattern threads and I ended up with the following order: 33-44-55-66-55-66-55-66-55-44-33. The pattern warps on 4, 5, and 6 all create the vertical and horizontal floats, but the pattern warps on 3 and 4 are only creating horizontal floats.
What am I doing wrong? Hopefully this photo upload works. I didn't create an account in ImgBB, just uploaded my photo and copied the link.
