I purchased the kit for the Monte Cristo Baby Blanket. I currently have my 8 shaft loom dressed for placemats but I need to complete the baby blanket soon. Since the blanket is plain weave, could I use my rigid heddle loom. Is there an advantage in threading 4 shafts on my floor loom for plain weave over using the rigid heddle for plain weave.
Also, if I use the rigid heddle, do I still need to thread 44, skip a dent, 2 threads in next dent, skip a dent. Thanks for any advice!
You certainly could do it on a rigid heddle weaving Plain Weave - if it can handle a warp that is 35" wide. In order for it to have the look and hand of the 4-shaft loom draft, you would need to set it up and weave it following the instructions that come with the kit. If your rigid heddle is narrower than 35" - you could adapt the pattern to fit the width of your loom.
