Is it possible to combine denting with double weaving. Thought that would make a lovely light baby blanket. Has anyone tried this?

I have cracked it! After a few false starts it is now weaving perfectly. Dented double weave. You were quite correct too many threads in one dent did not work . So I alternated a crammed piece with a dent top and bottom. Threading - first twelve threads all on 1 and 2 second Twelve all on 3and 4. In the Reed -3 per dent all the way across. I had to put in a floating selvedge on the left to hold the gap threads of the top layer. Also staggered the right hand side so I had a solid piece on each side of the finished piece. Haven’t washed it yet but thought you might like to see the work in progress.

WOW! Lot of lessons learned on this sample. 2/8 cotton warp, #10 crochet thread weft (Jane said you could use anything! LOL!). The cotton crochet thread weaves nicely, but not good for denting. After being wet finished it did not settle into place as well as the 2/8. I will just use this sample to practice fringes and as a lesson learned. I do enjoy denting though. Is it possible to get the warp/weft and sett info for the white piece Jane showed and said it was her first piece of denting? I would love to try it. Not sure how to upload pics here.

I'm having an issue with the warp threads migrating into the negative space....I mean realllly migrating. It's only happening on the outer 3" of either side, which makes me think it's not part of the 'normal' migration of the threads that will occur. The inner part of the warp is holding together really nicely. The tension feels constant across the piece. Any insight? TIA Leslie

Am weaving a dented shawl using 5/2 cotton and a novelty metallic yarn in the center of each warp and weft stripe -- two threads. What would happen if I did not tuck the metallic ends, they're rather bulky looking. Seems like they would be help in place well enough because of the firm beat and the cotton thread above and below it. Thanks! Sandee

Aside from underestimating how much warp is required for a scarf, I had fun with this.
