Well a year has gone by since the start of this thread and I’m reading all the posts/comments after my David III arrived. I agree with all said. Jane’s videos on the different Louet Looms sold me on David III - in particular the “shrinking sheds”. . It’s Oct 2023 and my David III has arrived. I watch the YouTube video several times before , during and after assembling. Awaiting raddle replacement (mine got damage) and needed to buy 2 metal rods for the beams. Balancing the shafts etc took little longer but I’m so very proud of the results. Last night I ordered the Kits for Season 2…almost ready to go and hope one of you can tell. “ Why did David III Manual want us to set up our Treadles with Tabby 1,3,5,7 (left and 2,4,6,8 (right)?
My New David III has arrived!

Congratulations on your new loom. They want you to do the shaft adjustment with a warp on all 8 shafts. I prefer to throw tabby picks from the left using odd numbered shafts and right using evens. No right way or wrong way, but it’s easier to know which shafts to raise if you’re consistent.
