Hello,
Ever since following Jane on Facebook I wanted a Louet. My husband bought me the new Louet David last Christmas and it arrived a couple of weeks ago. Almost a year! I love it, but I do have a question about the shed. I am weaving the Berry Tea Towel. The tie up is 2-3-4, 1, 1-3, 1-4, 1-3-4, . The 1 shed is beautiful, but the 1-4 shed is barely 1-1/2” and I have to advance frequently because I can’t get the shuttle through. Why is it that the other treddle for1- 4 doesn’t go down when depressing 1 making a nice shed, but when a depress 1-4 the 1 also goes down creating this narrow shed. Hope that is kind of clear. Thank you. Barb
Hey Barb,
what a wonderful present!
Did you find the reason or are you still looking?
I also own a David 3.
And had a lot of learning to do how to adjust things to make it work perfectly.
I had great assistence from Louet. Together we lokated the problem an found a solution. Don't hesitate to ask Louet.
I would realky like to help you, but I am a bit confused what causes your problem.
My sheds are always 2 - 2.5 inches wide.
Some ideas :
Could be the knurled nuts catch up on one another, or one of the tieup cords is wrong attached, or it's a problem with the springs, if they have different tension.
But every things solvable! Don't give up!
