When you are using two shuttles with two different colors and a floating selvage, do you always dive the dip if you exit the shed under the floating selvage?

Hi I believe when you are using floating selvages it is not necessary to dive the dip. I know Janet mentions using two shuttles with floating selvages but I can't remember which video it is in.
