I bought the Melting Ice scarf kit, considering myself an Advanced Beginner inasmuch as I have been weaving for over a year on a daily basis. I was disappointed that the 2 silk yarns were skeins rather than on spools since I lack the equipment and expertise to wind ,these myself and frankly, having spent this much money I didn't much want to turn around and buy a swift and another tool to wind a silk bobbin. I have bought silk yarn from JST and always paid extra to have it wound. The kit itself made no reference to how the silk was being sent and it never occurred to me to ask.I wanted to leave a review alerting other potential customers about this inasmuch as it cost me $24 to return this kit to you. but your website didn't allow me to do so despite being a guild member and having purchased the kit. I then noticed that none of the scarves have reviews. What's up with this? Considering the expense of these kits, I would like to know what other customers think of a kit before I purchase again and end up wasting money I don't have. It would have been very helpful to have known in advance that the silk is in a skein so I could have made an informed purchase. Thanks for your consideration with this.
Thanks Diana for your feedback and we will look into adding a note on the silk kits that the silks is not wound. We'll also look into why the scarf kit didn't allow reviews. Thanks again!
I’m thinking this is true for all of the scarf kits, not just the one I purchased, since no one has left any reviews whatsoever, which seems odd.
Actually, having visited your web site again, I don't see a single review for ANY of the kits you sell! It seems no one is able to leave a review, not just me. I am definitely going to think twice before I order another kit.
I appreciate your willingness to consider be more descriptive about the contents of the kits. It seems a simple matter to add "skeins of 20/2 Bombyx silk" rather than just "20/2 Bombyx silk."
Good morning Diana,
I'm not sure why you are not able to see some of the reviews, but again, we will have our tech guru look into this as soon as possible as to why you can't leave a review. We are hoping it'll be a quick fix. Stay tuned!
I looked at about 15+ different kits in different categories. They all indicated zero reviews.
