Ive seen patterns using merino warp with a mohair weft and finishing with fulling. Would Zephyr be a suitable substitue for the merino in the warp:
thanks
Hi Susan, you could use Zephyr as a substitute for 100% merino. There are a couple of caveats though….. As I’m sure you are aware that the other 50% of Zephyr is Tussah Silk and that makes Zephyr more expensive than 100% Merino. The other caveat is - do you have enough Zephyr in your stash to weave your project? Jaggerspun - the company that has produced Zephyr for years - has stopped producing it and many/most yarn shops are either getting low on it or are out of stock. All we have is Mythical Pink…..
Did you mean to say Jaegerspun Sandra?
Yes, I did - Cheryl - thank you for spotting that! I've made the correction. 🙏
