It's August already! What are you weaving in this "lazy, hazy, crazy" month of summer?
I am doing season 2 episode 10: Primaries and secondaries on black - towels.
It’s Sunshade burgundy curtain panels for the sleep bunkie in 16/2 orlec in 1” huck stripes divided by 1” plain weave on one loom. ( weaving with orlec as many suggested that it would withstand the direct sunlight better without damage) Then monk’s belt placemats in 8/4&8/2 cotton in shades of brown all while juggling 4 shuttles on my other loom. I am just about to bail on 2 shuttles and use 8/4 cotton for tabby and pattern for the placemats.
I am still happily weaving my 1st warp (warm colors) for Sequins in Pockets scarves. This first one is using bamboo weft...the second one will use silk weft. My plan is to warp up a 2nd warp in cool colors and repeat. Using my Carolyn table loom.
I did finish weaving and hemming a set of 22/2 cottolin dish towels on David 3.. 8-shaft using 6 shafts for the twill hearts and 2 shafts for the basket weave stripes. This project had to be completed fairly quickly as I needed to ship one of the towels off to my Ravelry Towel Swap partner. She lives in Germany.
I like this project so much, that I am going to put another warp in this pattern on David using 10/2 cotton for 2 sets of napkins. One for me and one for my Christmas swap for a local weaving group (we decided on napkins for this year's swap). This time I will warp the basket weave stripes in different colors. So many of us have Fiestaware dishes in loads of colors, the napkins will look fabulous.

Very nice Kit !! I love those soft colors!!
thanks Cheryl. A bit pastel for me.
I like seeing the turned twill in pastel as I usually do bright. I especially like the middle one/one hanging on oven door.
I loved weaving the sequins/pockets scarves. I was a little intimidated by the 16/2 bamboo threads. It was similar to sewing thread! Then I was amazed to find it went on the loom beautifully and wove like a dream. It encouraged me to put on a thin rayon warp that I had ice-dyed earlier in the summer. It's a flake so I've had a bit of trouble with breakage (not great for a warp), but fun to see how it looks as I make it into cloth.
