When are the lease sticks removed? I am assuming after I thread the heddles?
I like to leave them in until I have done the first tie on to the front and have my treadles tied up. I'm old and make mistakes. I want yo make sure everything is right. Then I take out the lease sticks and do the final tightening.
Okay. Thank you! I think I should do that as well. I am very new to weaving, and I am sure I will be making mistakes along the way.
Iām laughing here because I often forget to take them out after slaying and sure enough, I did it again today while I was spreading the warp before I start actually weaving. I wondered why it was so hard to get a clear shed. š
In my defense, Iām operating under brain fog from Covid. šš
Deb, I seem to remember Jane saying in the videos that if you have left the lease sticks in, getting a good shed is affected. Jane suggested to move the lease sticks as far back towards the back beam as possible to reduce the poor shed problem.
Sorry about the brain fog. I have had it several times in the past. No fun. However, I am here to say that things can improve.
However, it seems to not have reduced my 'mistake' count - overall !!
I usually take them out after I am SURE it is threaded and sleyed correctly. I learned this the hard way, early on as posted here in another thread.
It just slipped my mind again--again brain fog! LOL. Thanks!
