Hi all, I finally figured out that when I finish winding a warp on a warping board, the best way I can tie the 4 parts to the cross is to use a 3.75 mm crochet hook. My fingers are small but nothing is like the tiny crochet hook. I'm able to push the hook up from the back of the warp with the hook part facing backwards so I can deliver the tie string to the right spot. Then I use it the fish one end of the tie string forward through the open area so I can neatly tie it together. The result is that I'm not loosening up my warp as i fumble around trying to get my tie strings in the right place.
Also, I'm not going to count threads at the cross. I'm counting on single pegs. I've found fewer counting mistakes this way. I hope this suggestion helps and if anyone wants to comment if there are problems or inaccuracies in these ideas, please post here.
