Hello. I am waiting for my floor loom to arrive soon, and I am concerned about the noise travelling downstairs.

I live in an apartment building and have hardwood floors. I know people downstairs can hear my footsteps if I'm wearing high heels, so I'm wearing soft slippers inside my apartment.

I'm wondering if a sectional rug helps reduce the sound significantly. I'm also considering foam tiles, but they tend to look cheap and ugly :(

If anyone knows any special trick to reduce noise or to deaden noise, I'd love to know. Thanks in advance!

I recently got a lovely little rug to put under my David Loom. I bought it for that reason and because my floor is cold. It does muffle the sound, though my loom is pretty quiet, but I also didn’t like the clunking of the treadles on the floor. This solved it. I bought a 5x7 rug on Amazon for about $100 and I love it.
