Hi there, I have just woven a Linen scarf in a huck lace and plain weave pattern, 20epi and after washing and hanging to dry and light steam iron, I still find it quite stiff. Linen from Jane Stafford. Any suggestions to soften it up before I gift it?

Toss it in the dryer with a couple of damp bath towels.

Thanks, I was concerned I would get too much shrinkage putting it in the dryer

I usually toss it in the washer and dryer after the first damp dry and hard press with an iron. My shrinkage overall is around 10%.

What's the solution for those of us without a dryer?

Linen was used for millenniums before dryers were invented ;-) I'd wash it by hand and hang it to dry. Then you can follow Cheryl's suggestion above for pressing it.
