Hello Weavers!
I have an issue that is stumping me quite seriously. I cannot figure out what is happening to my towels. In full disclosure, I am weaving for the first time on an AVL, Compu Dobby Loom with Fiberworks. (16 S, CD III)
This is my first warp on this loom and it is mostly going fine--except after I weave the pattern blocks I get these odd warp floats that go for a few picks in the opposing blocks. The mistakes corrects itself after a few picks, but then happens again after I do the pattern lace. On a whim. I threw two picks in the same final shed and the mistake didn't happen. What gives?
Also of note (maybe): I added a tabby on treadles 9 & 10 to do the initial spreading of the warp. I thought this would not hurt the draft because it is on different treadles.
I have checked the draft in Fiberworks and all is fine. I also realized I was beating too lightly and started weaving more firmly.
I'll tell you--on this new loom it is like I am a new weaver all over again! So much learning of new things! I checked everything--threading, draft, etc. and nothing is off.
Thank you so much in advance. I have searched high and low and cannot seem to figure this out.
