I would prefer not to use floating selvages - I find they really slow me down and prevent me from getting in a good rhythm. And, I have a acquired a new-to-me 8 shaft loom :)
I know I can add a plain weave border, but when I tried that with a 3/1 twill the plain weave was tighter than the twill and prevented me from obtaining a balance weave. Is there another structure that I could use on the selvages that would be a similar sett/ density as the 1/3 twill but would not require a floating selvage?
