Hello spring 2 weavers,
I've just added 4 shaft extension to my loom.
I'm trying to get my shed as wide as Jane's shed in the videos.
I've tried the louet official heights and I cant get it.
In Jane's knowledge base are different heights but I don't know of those are for spring 1 or 2. I tried them and still - no good shed
can anyone tell me what I should do?
Thank You...
Alon
Hi Alon, Those measurements on the KB are for the Spring I......we will be sure to make that notation now there is a Spring II
I have a 12 shaft Spring II and these are my measurements with the blocking pin in.
Floor to bottom edge of lower lamm 33 cm
Floor to bottom edge of upper lamm 52.5 cm
Floor to bottom edge of lower shaft bar 64 3/4 cm
Floor to bottom edge of upper shaft bar 100.5 cm
And just a note to watch the height of your beater....if you beater it too high then the shed won't be able to open fully :)
Hope this helps.
Hi Jane, I’m wondering if the measurements for your Spring 2 lams and shaft heights are the same for each shaft. Or do they slope up in height at all, from front to back? I’m having a heck of a time with my Spring 2 😔
Thanks
Hi Annette, with the blocking pin in everything should be parallel…all at the same height. When you pull the blocking pin out they will shift but that is okay. There could be a slight slope, the important thing is “what is your shed like” :)
Thanks for such a quick response! I will definitely give it those measurements a try. One other question, is it super important where the warp is passing through the heddle eye (ie..centre, top, bottom)?
