I think that this student is ready to learn how to do some conversions for the overshot scarves.

I have the Zephyr and have two different silks available. I have some 20/2 Treenway, some 70/3 Zwicky, as well as some 60/3. It seems that if I use the 20/2 the scarf will be a little stiff and with the 70/3 or the 60/3 it might be a bit sleazy.

Is this correct? What other solutions might there be?

I am determined to understand in the future how to do a conversion of this on my own, so forgive me if I ask follow up questions to cement my learning.

Hi Sharon, I think the best way for you to go forward would be to get out your ruler and start wrapping. The silks you have are not ones I’m familiar with and the plies of 70/3 silk would be very fine - less than ½ the thickness of 30/2 and with an extra ply of silk in the yarn. So, my suggestion is to go back to Season 1 - Episode 4 - Let’s Have a Little Chat About Sett and review the ways you can work out your own sett and ppi for the yarns you are thinking of using.
