Hi, I have not found WIF files for the drafts for individual episodes (or any episodes actually). Are they available, and where? Asking as I am finally getting to doing Bronson Spot S5 E6 and wanted to get a general sense of the distribution of heddles on the shafts. I would then do some counting to get them approximately centred. As the draft is done using the blocks vs individual threads it is going to be a bit of chore to figure it out. If WIF was available I could very quickly get the count from Fibre Works. A thought for the future perhaps.
Hi Sharon, WIFs aren't provided with the episodes - the drafts for each episode are not created in FiberWorks but in a publishing program. That said - if I want to have a WIF of a particular sample/project - I just put it into FiberWorks and then I can "play" with the pattern's colours, treadling, etc. to get some interesting results.
Yes, I may put it into Fiberworks. Or just wing it. Didn't realise the drafts were not created in a weaving program. Sounds tedious. Thanks for the response.
Is there a way students can contribute WIF files to be shared with all students?
I could be wrong, but I remember Jane talking about how much we can learn from creating our own WIFs, so I am not sure if sharing WIF files will be encouraged by the school. If you watch "Season 7-7 Summer & Winter with colour and weave", you can hear her talking about creating our own WIFs. Happy weaving : )
