I'm just watching Janes piece on Turned Twill, I have a counterbalance loom which apparently Jane said cannot be done on a counter balance , how can I get round this or do I need to find something else
Have you had a chance to read Jane's article about the difference between types of looms on the Knowledge Base - The difference between a Counter-Marche, a Jack and a Counter-Balance Loom? That might help you understand the answer to your question. On another note - Turned Twill is an 8 shaft structure.
Silly me after watching again, no I have an 8 shaft counter marche so I can do the turned twill
Perhaps you want to read Deborah Chandler’s wonderful article, “My Re-Education on Counterbalanced Looms” from Handwoven March/April 1988.. you can also find it at the following web address https://www.interweave.com/wp-content/uploads/HWMar-Apr-1988_Chandler_24_26.pdf .
