Season 8 Episode 6 - Traditional Rib Basket presented by Joan Carrigan
After many many requests for another basket I've brought back the amazing Joan Carrigan to teach us how to make a traditional rib basket. A basket that you can put all your eggs in :)
Step by step, Joan walks us through the construction from handle and rim to filling in the base. Our videographer Al, captured each step so beautifully. At the end of the episode you'll get to see some gorgeous baskets from Joan's collection that will inspire you to push this technique further.
I hope you have fun watching, and even if you are not a basket maker, it will give you a greater appreciation for what goes into the construction of a basket. All baskets are woven by someone, somewhere by hand.
