Good morning from Bellingham! My huck color and weave is already to weave, but I have some questions! I am used to having a treadling plan in front of me when I weave so I am trying to figure out the treadling pattern.

first gamp is tromp as writ in plain weave following the colors of the warp
is this what it means?
weave 8 picks of lime, 25 picks of white, 5 lime, 3 black, 3 white, 3 black, 3 white, 9 black, 3 white, 3 black, 3 white, 3 black, 5 lime.

and I weave it using treadles 1,3 and 2,4?

2nd gamp also follows these colors but treadles with the weft float treadles?

I’m confused about how to correctly thread the Winter Sunset Scarf and hopefully someone can help. I thought I understood how to thread the loom following chart and the color sequence on page 2 but then I read the threading note on page 3—what are the first and third sections of the threading chart on page 2? Is it the first and last ABA sections between the PWs? Are the PWs included when it says to thread LDDDL 5 times? Is there a lesson I should rewatch?

I passed your questions onto to Barbara - the very talented weaver who designed the scarves - and this should answer your questions.

The colour order and threading chart on page 2 are how the loom is threaded and if you just follow this, then everything will work out perfectly.

To explain the threading notes on page 3:
If you look at the first ABA section on page 3, each A is 12121 and this is threaded LDDDL, and each B is 43434 and this is also threaded LDDDL. Drawn out in full, this "first" pattern section is ABABA - which gives you LDDDL five times. So, for each five thread unit, the two outside tie-down threads are light, while the two pattern threads for each unit, and the centre tie-thread is dark. This just gives you another way to check, when you are threading that you are getting the lights and darks in the correct heddles when threading.

Then the plain weave section is 13 ends all in Rust.

The centre ABA section has 13 units, and the whole section is threaded LD all the way across (1 chartreuse, I rust alternating for 65 ends total).

The threading notes on page 3 were just to act as a cross-check on the threading, but everything on page 2 is how the loom is threaded.

I'm enjoying Huck Colour & Weave so much that I'm thinking about weaving a scarf with 2/18 Merino. I'm wondering if 18epi is appropriate. Did anyone try weaving a huck scarf with 2/18 Merino or Zephyr by any chance? Any suggestion on Sett would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance :)
