Hello,
I am new to your sight. And was looking for some direction.
I have finished my towels and am ready to wash and hem them. My question is do I want to separate them before washing or leave them as one long cloth? I have machine zig-zaged each hem side of the individual towels. I look forward to hearing from you.

There is no rule, Mary……some weavers cut them apart - and you have secured all hems in your warp, so you could easily do that. If you have cut your warp into sections - you could secure the beginning and ending hem with zigzag and wash it that way. Washing a full length warp would depend on your washing machine. Mine is top loading and the warp gets twisted if it’s too long. Whatever is most comfortable for you.
I do both. Lately I have been using fray-check between towels so it is easy to cut them apart and hem before washing.
Got it I think I will try the fray check and split them apart. I was so happy weaving these towels. These colors were way out of my comfort zone. I will try and send a picture of them soon.
Thank you for such a quick response!
Fray check is handy to keep close to the loom. I use a little drop on a fingertip and smooth along any warp thread that looks like it might be getting abraded while I am weaving. Curiously, this usually happens on undyed threads. I let it dry a minute or so and continue weaving.
I use my serger on my towels to secure the cut edges as it cuts them apart. Then I wash and dry them, and then I hem them.
Good idea, Cheryl. Wish I’d though of that when I did the Ocean towels as I did have a very thin thread that I had to fix. I ended up just breaking it, pulling a little slack and retying it. The beauty of bouclé is that it hides stuff like that so we’ll. 😉
Thank you all that helped me on my washing and hemming question. I have finally finished my towels this week and wanted to share them with you. They were a nice surprise with such fun colors. Thank you JST. I look forward to being a part of this community :)

I learned so much. And just want to share!
Beautiful, and the colors just glow on the background of snow !
Beautiful, Mary! Now I’m even more excited to get mine on the loom. I only have a couple of the colors wound so far. I stopped in order to make another blanket.
So colorful, really nice!
Love your colorful towels.
is there something I have to do on m computer so I can see the pictures? I'm feeling left out ;}
